Paranormal Activity

The impact of new technology on media industries? It means that they can broadly distribute their product through advertisements and promotion, also the consumer is widely accessible to what they distribute and can therefore become 'prosumers' by spreading the word. If there is a change in technology that means visits to the cinema become less popular and may be deemed unnecessary so production companies and writers have to come up with innovative ideas within technology and the narrative concept so that the cinema experience appeals to the public once more, hence the recent production of 3D/4D movies.

The transformation of distribution and marketing strategies by media institutions...
With the introduction of new technology that is constantly developing comes another way in which promotion and marketing can be approached, it means that instead of the standard poster and trailer, marketing strategies can move into things such as the internet, into bnoth teaser trailers and full length trailers.

The use of new technology to facilitate more accurate targeting of specific audiences...
it is important that the film industries keeps up with all of the latest technology as these are social trends and therefore mean they are obviously popular and mass audience can be addressed. The introduction of smart phones such as Blackberrys and iPhones meant that apps were available and companies could use this to their advantage as they know that people are always on their phone, obviously smartphones also mean that most people have constant access to the internet now so marketing companies now use this to their advantage by targetting social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
